First Year Seminar Course (FYCS)
Every new incoming student will take a First Year Seminar Course (FYCS), as an introduction to college life, work, and research. Each class will have an individual research theme, based upon the College's focus upon "persistence and courage in the promoting of justice with compassion" from our Mission Statement. All first-year students will share a common textbook, available at the Bookstore, and a common novel, Bernedine Evaristo's Blonde Roots.
